Down Town

The air was filled with the strong smells of cigarettes and gasoline as cars passed by and people walked past on the streets. I was walking downtown with my family when I noticed an area across the street with tents and homeless people wandering around. I couldn't help but wonder if they ever stole from each other, although it seemed unlikely since they probably didn't have much to steal in the first place.

I got curious and I asked my mom why these people's belongings would sometimes be taken away by the state. She explained that it was because the authorities didn't want the city to become messy and unclean. This made me think about whether the homeless individuals ever considered getting a job or finding a place to live.

As we continued walking, I began to notice that there was a large number of homeless people downtown. It made me sad because they didn't know if they would have a meal to eat or a warm place to sleep at night. I decided to ask my mom why people end up homeless.

She replied, "They become homeless because they don't find work and hold a job." I then asked if they could live with their families or friends instead. My mom pointed out that without a phone or means of communication, it would be difficult for them to reach out and contact their loved ones.

This made me realize that escaping homelessness was much more challenging than I initially thought. Without a phone, homeless individuals would struggle to find job opportunities nearby. Even if they managed to find a job opening, it would be hard to find employers to hire them when they don't have a stable place to live. This would also mean they would not be as professional so it could make the business look bad for having them work there.

I decided to do some research on homelessness and discovered that unemployment was the second leading cause of homelessness. It meant that being unemployed put you in a tough spot, unless you could quickly find a job. Many companies were reluctant to hire homeless individuals because they were seen as unreliable and unprofessional, which are important qualities in the workforce.

Unemployment is a significant issue for people facing financial difficulties and society as a whole. In times of rising inflation, not having a job can be a huge problem for anyone. It's vert important to develop good habits and skills from a young age to increase your chances of employment and stability.

One of the sad aspects of unemployment is that it contributes to increasing homelessness rates. As unemployment rises, small businesses struggle to afford paying their employees the standard wages, leading to them getting shut down. In the end, higher unemployment rates normally mean higher homelessness rates as well.
